About us

Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP) is a professional and dynamic business support organization. We contribute to the economy of Ventspils city and the Kurzeme region by promoting the development of emerging industries and the creation of new, well-paid jobs. VHTP is also an active player in the innovation ecosystem of Latvia and the Baltic Sea region. We focus on creating all necessary preconditions to ensure rapid growth for companies in emerging industries.

VHTP operates in the following areas:
  • Business Support Centre: We provide information, consultations, and support to idea owners and early-stage businesses.
  • Premises and Infrastructure Rental: We offer high-quality office space and supportive services.
  • Digital Innovation Hub: In Latvia, two European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) promote the digital transformation of businesses – the Latvian Digital Accelerator and the IT Cluster. VHTP serves as a contact point for both EDIHs and can provide services supporting digitalization of both products and processes.
  • Design and Prototyping: Two technology spaces are available to help anyone turn their ideas into reality. At the Ventspils design workshop RADE, users can create and print a variety of products. The workshop features equipment for transferring designs onto clothing, plastic, metal, wood, acrylic, composite materials, and other accessories. It also enables photo printing, sticker creation, and packaging production. At the Prototyping Centre, it is possible to create parts and prototypes, as well as receive technical consultations on prototype and part design and manufacturing.
  • Educational Technologies: We offer access to the Future Classroom and provide both in-house developed educational tools (Pratne.Workbook and Pratne.Career Portfolio) and carefully selected international apps and software tailored for use in Latvian educational institutions.

VATP’s key goals:
  • Develop and manage a modern business environment and infrastructure suitable for the 21st century.
  • Provide business idea authors and new entrepreneurs with the best business support services in Latvia, resulting in faster business development and the creation of new, well-paid jobs.
  • Promote the further growth and expansion of emerging industry companies, positioning Ventspils as a European hub for technology creation and manufacturing.
  • Foster interest among children and youth in technology and STEM careers, thereby ensuring a sustainable human resource base for the development of emerging industries.

VHTP was established in 2005 by seven founding organizations, including Siemens SIA, Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, the Latvian Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry Association (LETERA), and the Association of Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking Industries of Latvia (MASOC), among others.
