Innovation Grants for students in the interdisciplinary fields of arts, culture, economics and IT (MaKE IT)
The aim of the project: to increase the research and innovation capacity of the School of Economics and Culture and its partners - the School of Banking and the Alberta College of Business by developing and implementing an innovation grant programme for students that will develop their innovation and entrepreneurship skills, fostering the interdisciplinary interaction of art, culture, economics and IT through the collaboration of universities, students and entrepreneurs.

Target group: students at all levels and programmes in higher education institutions, as well as students in colleges, general secondary education and vocational education (aged 18 and over).

The project offers students the opportunity to receive grant ideas for research or development in a 4-month cycle, to receive expert, mentor and supervisor guidance, to participate in training and networking events, and to apply for a scholarship of up to €228/month.

The project runs from 22 November 2021 to 21 November 2023 (24 months).

The total budget of the project is EUR 1 075 534,72 of which 83,68% is financed by the ERDF and 16,32% is co-financed by the private sector.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Specific Support Objective 1.1.1 of the Operational Programme "Growth and Employment" "To increase the research and innovation capacity of Latvian scientific institutions and their ability to attract external funding by investing in human resources and infrastructure" Measure 1.1.1.3 "Innovation Grants for Students".
