On December 14th and 15th, in Ventspils 1. Gymnasium will take place Robot construction seminar, the aim of seminar is to stimulate youth’s interest about engineering and demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of different technical spheres. Within the seminar youth will acquire basic theoretical robot construction, electronic and programming knowledge, and have the opportunity to construct their own sumo-robot. At the end of seminar will be exciting sumo-robot fights, in order to see whose robot is the most powerful. The winner will have an opportunity to participate in Baltic Robotics competitions in Rīga and Tartu in spring 2012.
Manufacturing companies of Kurzeme are welcome to apply for industrial exhibition ELEMENTI. Starting from January 4, 2012 the exhibition will be available in Ventspils and later in Liepāja, Kuldīga and Rīga. The aim of the exhibition is to demonstrate products manufactured in Kurzeme, and also to inform the wider territory about the things Latvia can be proud of.
On October 18, 2011 management representatives of Baltic Technology Group (BTG) and international Unisys Corporation will visit Ventspils and give a guest lecture in Ventspils University College. From 22nd to 25th August was delegation of SIB Net project visiting three cities in Finland: Turku, Helsinki and Hämeenlinna. Aim of the visit was to get to know situation in finnish start-up landscape and meet key players in that field, seek out possible cooperation possibilites between organizations and find ways to promote and support start-ups in both sides of the Finnish Gulf.
