The winner of Kurzeme industrial design exhibition „Elements 2012” has been announced
Yesterday, February 2, the winner of Kurzeme industrial design exhibition “Elements 2012” was announced. Pally chair by company MWF Ltd. receiving the most votes was awarded as the most successful industrial design of Kurzeme region in 2012.
The Pally chair received 2791 votes in total and was followed by the product of Dendrolight Latvija Ltd. – the solid wood cellular material – which received 2707 votes. The third most popular design product receiving 2628 votes were woollen bears by Wooly World Ltd.
Exhibition organisers are truly glad about responsiveness and support of inhabitants of Kurzeme who evaluated and also promoted the design products. Despite the fact that the exhibition was organised for the first year, the activity of voters was considerable; there were 24205 votes received in total both via exhibition home page www.kurzemesdizains.lv and in shopping malls in Ventspils, Liepāja and Kuldīga! From February 6 – 20, the exhibition items will be displayed in shopping mall “Damme” in Riga. Afterwards the items will travel back to Ventspils to be displayed at Kurzeme Democentre located in Ventspils High Technology Park. All exhibition items are also included in a special booklet. The aim of the Kurzeme industrial design exhibition “Elements 2012” is to inform society of enterprises and products created in Kurzeme region, to promote popularity of Kurzeme region manufacturers, to highlight the importance of design and role of designers in technology development, as well as to reveal innovations and novelties of the region.
Project is organised by Mākslas perons Ltd., Latvian Designers’ Society, Kurzeme Democentre and iDEA HOUSE events.
