„We own the sky 2012!” competition works are to be evaluated

Currently works of the competition „We own the sky 2012!” are being summarized. As the term for submission of the competition works was April 2 several competition works are still travelling via post. A competent jury consisting of representatives of the VHTP, Ministry of Education and Science of the RL, and Children’s Science Center Z(in)oo will evaluate the works by April 16.
Pupils could submit their competition works by April 2. After that the works will be evaluated by the competition jury. Although the topic „space” sounds complicated, everyone can participate! It is allowed due to the format of the competition that calls to create competition works of any type. A work of the competition can be even a collection of poems, painting, sculpture, song, or dance. Of course jury is interested also in reading different papers and researches.

Participants could submit their works in various ways – both in hand at the Ventspils High Technology Park in Ventspils and Ministry of Education and Science in Riga and via post to the VHTP or e-mail eva [dot] daigina [at] vatp [dot] lv. These and other provisions are clearly described in the Provisions of the competition available on the homepage of the VHTP www.vatp.lv under the section Space/We own the sky!

The competition „We own the sky” is being held already for the third year. Previously four pupils were awarded – Aleksejs from Riga Classical Gymnasium, Anna from Jelgava State Gymnasium, Laura from Brocēni Secondary School, and Rūdolfs from Valmiera State Gymnasium. All of them will confirm that the camp is an unforgettable adventure. Walk over the Moon, simulations of space ship launch, spacemen’ underwater training, and testing different simulators – it is fascinating to everyone. Opportunity to improve English skills, as well as meeting other youth from more than 20 world countries and making friends is invaluable.

The novelty of this year is an additional competition for schools. The most active Latvian school from pupils of which the most works will be received, will get 20 free tickets to Children’s Science Center Z(in)oo in Cēsis!

All information about the competition, as well as Provisions and application form is available on the homepage of the competition www.draugiem.lv/kmpd as well as on the VHTP homepage www.vatp.lv under the section Space/We own the sky!
