The Kurzeme Democentre in Ventspils begins its operation

Today, on September 26, opening event of an interactive science centre “Kurzeme Democentre” will be held at the Ventspils High Technology Park (the VHTP).

As has already been mentioned, interactive science centres have gained popularity worldwide and they become in their location the top tourism objects and attractive promotion centres to choose educational direction and career.

Kurzeme Democentre is to be open

Tomorrow, on September 26, the Kurzeme Democentre – an interactive science centre fulfilling educational and entertaining function thus becoming one of the attendance objects of Ventspils city inhabitants, guests, and tourists – is to be open at the Ventspils High Technology Park (the VHTP).

The interactive science centres have gained popularity all over the world and in their location they become the TOP tourism objects and attractive agents to promote choice of educational direction

Interactive science centres have gained huge popularity worldwide becoming in their location the TOP tourism objects and serving as attractive centres to promote choice of educational direction and career.

Also we, the team of the Ventspils High Technology Park, are caught by creation of such centre and therefore we are actively working on development of initial expositions in Ventspils.

The VHTP signs cooperation agreement on operation of space technologies cluster for the next three years

Yesterday, on September 12, Member of the Board of the Ventspils High Technology Park (the VHTP), Salvis Roga, at the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia signed a cooperation agreement on Development of Space Technologies and Services Cluster 2012-2015.

Winners of the competition "We own the sky 2012" have returned from the USA

Winners of this year’s competition „We own the sky 2012” really gladly have returned from the international space camp in Huntsville, Alabama, the USA. Organizers of the competition asked to an interview both of the winners. Here is the interview with the winner among boys, Raimonds Munčs from Daugavpils.

The competition in 2012 was held for the third year in turn. The organizers – the Ventspils High Technology Park (the VHTP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the RL, IdeaHouse Events, and Children’s Science Center Z(in)oo invited all active Latvian pupils to take this great opportunity and get to the international space camp in the USA. 

Interview with Chairman of the Board Ivars Eglājs in the 7th anniversary of the VHTP

Today is the 7th anniversary of a foundation Ventspils High Technology Park. Tell me how all this began?

At the end of 2004 I arrived in Ventspils – city which I immediately found very attractive. I understood that here I want to work and stay. This was how the idea about development of electronics and high technologies in Ventspils was born.

Today, on the 31st of August, the presentation of Latvia’s first satellite Venta–1 took place in Irbene. During the presentation audience could closely examine the satellite Venta-1, get broader concept of its construction process as well as to obtain the latest information about satellite’s development.

A record high number of ideas have been submitted for European Satellite Navigation Competition 2011

On 3rd July ended the submission of ideas for the European Satellite Navigation Competition, which is held for the eighth consecutive year. Latvia is a participant for the first time.

This year, the competition’s organizers received a record high number of registrations from 820 participants and 401 ideas are submitted.

In Ventspils has been created a „Cleanroom” to manufacture high tech products

In Ventspils has been created the first Cleanroom in Kurzeme region. The ISO class 7 Cleanroom is located in Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP), and it will be used by and offered to companies that operate in high technology fields, mainly in electronics and satellite technologies.
