venta.lv: Deal made to launch satellite Venta-1 into the orbit

Finally an agreement has been made with the Bremen City University of Applied Sciences on launch of Latvian nanosatellite Venta-1 into the orbit.

Deployment of satellite Venta-1 into orbit is planned in the second quarter of 2016, with the Indian launcher PSLV. Precise date of the launch is not yet confirmed, because it depends on the readiness of the main cargo of the launcher.

Consultations will take place for the potential project applicants for the European Space Agency's Plan for European Cooperating States

This year, from October 5 to November 30, the European Space Agency's (ESA) Plan for European Cooperating States (PECS) second tender will take place, during which ESA plans to buy products, technologies and services from Latvian suppliers. The tender will be open to businesses, scientific institutions, universities and other legal entities.

Heat loss from buildings will be determined via satellite

Foundation Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP) in cooperation with Latvian and Norwegian partners launched an ambitious study of the possibility to identify the heat loss from buildings and plan to prevent this by using satellite technologies.
