The construction of the technology centre building is nearing completion


One of the examples, which describe the growth of industrial zone, is the development of the High Technology Park. From one building, in 10 years it has grown to the size of small manufacturing town, where technology fields - electronics, as well as information and communication technology is concentrated.

Consultations will take place for the potential project applicants for the European Space Agency's Plan for European Cooperating States

This year, from October 5 to November 30, the European Space Agency's (ESA) Plan for European Cooperating States (PECS) second tender will take place, during which ESA plans to buy products, technologies and services from Latvian suppliers. The tender will be open to businesses, scientific institutions, universities and other legal entities.

Construction of the Technology Centre continues

The construction of the Technology Centre building on the territory of the Ventspils High Technology Park continues. At this time, the external engineering systems and power transformer have been completed, as well as the paving construction in the parking territory. The construction of metal structures is completed, as well as the construction of the roof bearing profile of the largest part of the building. Currently wall sandwich panels are being mounted and the roof insulation and waterproofing are being completed.

Business idea from students of Ventspils University College IT faculty Electronics programme is on a victory march

At the end of last year, training courses "Become an entrepreneur in 5 days", which took place in Ventspils University College, were successfully concluded. Around 30 participants took place in the contest, and at the end the bravest had the chance to present their business idea to a jury and receive a special promotional prize. According to the jury the best business idea, to offer Latvian made electronics and robotics teaching platform sets, came from three 3rd year students of Ventspils University College IT faculty Electronics programme.

Ventspils High Technology Park, with cooperation of Ventspils Freeport Authority, was established 10 years ago. In February of this year, it is celebrating its 10 year anniversary, and when looking back one can see, that a long road has been travelled - starting from a green meadow in Pārventa, with a couple of reservoirs to be demolished, to manufacturing of internet routers in the electronics factory, programming of the mobile applications, and opening the first Northern Europe Software Quality Competence Centre.
