In the industrial zone of the Free port of Ventspils - Ventspils High technology Park - a modern science and technology museum Kurzeme Demo centre is being built. Museum is interesting not only with its interactive exhibits and creative workshops, but also with unique collection of product samples manufactured by Kurzeme companies.

Celebration for the new Kurzeme Demo centre building

On September 30, in the Ventspils High Technology Park, rising of the wraiths of the new science and technology museum "Kurzeme Demo" centre building were celebrated. During the event, successful progress was reviewed, and, according to tradition, there was the symbolic oak leave wraith and meals were served.

Natural sciences teachers presented with opportunities to educate students on the Climate change

On the August 21, University of Latvia held the annual Science and Mathematics teachers conference "Science and mathematics in school - effectively and creatively." SIA Aspired also took part in the conference, and presented the natural sciences teachers with opportunities to educate students about the Climate change during the project "Green Mission: Climate" for the 2015/2016 school year. Teachers were invited to apply their schools and students for free participation in the project activities for the next academic year.

Construction of Kurzeme Demo Centre low energy cost building will begin in June

Foundation Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP) informs that construction of Science and Technology Museum's Kurzeme Demo Centre low energy cost building will successfully start its construction in June.

Kurzeme Demo Centre earned Science and Technology Museum Status

Kurzeme Demo Centre, created by the establishment Ventspils High Technology Park, from 2014 can officially be proud of their science and technology museum status. Currently the expositions of Kurzeme Demo Centre are located in Ventspils High Technology Park 1 and are open for public visitation Existing exposition is supplemented with new items - welcoming robot Robis, dancing beaver of Rīga or augmented reality, upside down goggles and interactive projection wall.

Ventspils High Technology Park, with cooperation of Ventspils Freeport Authority, was established 10 years ago. In February of this year, it is celebrating its 10 year anniversary, and when looking back one can see, that a long road has been travelled - starting from a green meadow in Pārventa, with a couple of reservoirs to be demolished, to manufacturing of internet routers in the electronics factory, programming of the mobile applications, and opening the first Northern Europe Software Quality Competence Centre.

This Sunday Kurzeme Democentre invites to a creative workshop

This Sunday, on September 1, Ventspils Open-air Seaside Museum will host an annual Day of Civil Parishes, and this year also Kurzeme Democentre will participate in it. Every interested one during the creative workshop are welcome to repeat the famous experiment with an electric bulb by Thomas Edison for free, as well as find out how and why the most widespread fruit – an apple – is able to generate electricity.

News from interactive exhibition of Kurzeme Democentre

The interactive exhibition of Kurzeme Democentre, „Explore music”, is offered to visitors already as of May 10. Evaluation of the current visits allows concluding that majority of visitors are pupils, families, and tourists. In May there were the biggest number of pupil groups arriving from various Latvian educational institutions, but in June the Democentre was visited by families and tourist groups.

Kurzeme Democentre announces Twitter campaign #AUSTINGS

As of today every week all users of Twitter have an opportunity to receive free tickets to an interactive exhibition by participating in a Twitter campaign #AUSTINGS. Participants of the campaign are asked just to make photo with headphones of the Democentre’s poster and publish the photo in the social portal Twitter.com attaching a hashtag #AUSTINGS.

Kurzeme Democentre with support of LMT will organise in Ventspils a day of technical creative workshops


Today, on May 28, Livonian Order Castle in Ventspils held a closing event of the competition “LMT to Ventspils”, in which one of the winners receiving a funding to implement the idea is “Kurzmemes Democentrs” Ltd., an enterprise of VHTP Business Incubator. The enterprise will have an opportunity to organise a day of technical creative workshops this summer.

Kurzeme Democentre visited by more than 700 people in Night of Museums

At the weekend all Latvia experienced Night of Museums. Also “Kurzemes Democentrs” Ltd., enterprise of VHTP Business Incubator who just a week ago opened doors for visitors of its new exposition “What is music”, also took participation. To pleasure and really approving surprise of Democentre’s representatives, it were visited by more than 700 people.

Today Kurzeme Democentre officially opens interactive exhibition „What is music?”

Today, on May 10, Kurzeme Democentre officially opens a new interactive and fascinating exhibition for everyone “What is music?” Along with the new exhibition, also the existing most popular stands of Democentre – a mobile photo stand and game of mind power – can be seen. All residents and guests of Ventspils are welcome to visit the exhibition with their families, friends, and colleagues. The exhibition will be opened every day in promenade, Ostas iela 23, from 10:00 to 20:00 (also in holidays).

„Kurzeme Democentre” Ltd. offers 3 vacancies for guides for a set term in the length of 5 months – from May 1 to September 30. In this period Kurzeme Democentre will offer people and guests of Ventspils an opportunity to visit an interactive exhibition “What is music?”.
