On March 9, seminar „Sustainable and Integrated Baltic Research and Innovation Area” organised by the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Baltic Assembly took place in Ventspils with participation of the Economics, Energy and Innovations Committee. During the visit, representatives of the Baltic States’ parliaments visited also the Ventspils High Technology Park (the VHTP).
Today is the 7th anniversary of a foundation Ventspils High Technology Park. Tell me how all this began?
At the end of 2004 I arrived in Ventspils – city which I immediately found very attractive. I understood that here I want to work and stay. This was how the idea about development of electronics and high technologies in Ventspils was born.
Technology Park is a structural unit of VHTP that offers territory, premises and support services for high technology companies, and for educational and scientific organizations that are willing to expand or start their activity in Ventspils.
The activity of Technology Park is based on designing and constructing production and office buildings, as well as engineering communications and roads. Providing public and communication services is an integral part of Technology Park’s activity.
Technology Park for companies and educational research organizations offers following collaboration models:
In Ventspils has been created the first Cleanroom in Kurzeme region. The ISO class 7 Cleanroom is located in Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP), and it will be used by and offered to companies that operate in high technology fields, mainly in electronics and satellite technologies.
