Satellite Technology Summer School 2010

From August 9 till 14, 2010 in Ventspils University College and Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center more than 30 students from Latvia, Estonia and Finland took part in Satellite Technology Summer School. In five days lecturers from European Space Agency, AAC Microtec (Sweden), Aalborg University (Denmark) gave different lectures on satellite technologies, including, small satellite construction, operation of ground base stations etc.

Since Latvian students are working on construction of satellite Venta-1, and Estonian counterparts on construction of ESTCube, this summer school was a great opportunity to find out what the neighbours have thus far done in small satellite construction.

The Satellite Technology Summer School was held within the framework of Norwegian Bilateral Financial Instrument’s subproject “Cooperation between Ventspils and Tartu in Space Technology Research and Training” of the programme “Cross-Border Cooperation” and was implemented by Ventspils High Technology Park, Ventspils University College, University of Tartu, and Observatory of Tartu.
