Development of the Space Technologies and Services Cluster 2012-2015

Objective of the project: to reach the set strategic aims of the Space Technologies and Services Cluster by 2015 including promotion of mutual interests of Cooperation partners, raise competitiveness of the Cluster, increase export volume, as well as promote creation of innovations and new products.

Brave Idea Support Programme 2013

 The competition took place from 2 April to 30 April 2013. 

Ventspils High Technology Park in collaboration with Kurzeme Business Incubator and SEB Bank implemented the competition "Brave Idea Support Programme" with a goal to facilitate and support the creation and development of brave business ideas in Kurzeme region.

Small Innovative Business Promotion Network (SIB Net)

The aim of the project is to offer support for new innovative high growth firms e.g. “gazelles”, and to provide the necessary competence and support for prospective entrepreneurs, which is essential in overcoming the early stage of the initial idea and its implementation. The project will also encourage the collaboration between the academic sector and regional business incubators.   

Unified ICT Network for Innovation (ICT DCNet)

The aim of the project is to connect the information and communication technology (ICT) demonstration centres of Tartu, Rīga and Venspils in a network, thus providing wider access to different information and communication technologies and solutions, as well as to synchronize the study program module “Artificial intelligence” in the Riga Technical University and University of Tartu.

BalticSupply – Interregional SME Supply Clusters along the Northeast Corridor

The aim of the project is to provide support of participation in regional and international supply markets more efficiently, and it is aimed at companies operating in the region of the Baltic Sea and Northern Sea. The supported fields are maritime industries, energy and public infrastructure, food and health etc.

Developmental activities of the Space Technology Cluster 2011

The aim of the project is to encourage the development of space technology field in Latvia and to promote the international competitiveness of cluster’s participants. The aims also include encouraging the international collaboration of space technology cluster, drawing up joint projects, as well as carrying out marketing activities to increase the competitiveness of participants, to boost the volume of export, and to advance new space technology products in the market.

The aim of the project is to create a Space Technology Cluster by uniting business people, research, educational and public sector organizations, thus encouraging the mutual collaboration and development of useful economical activities in Latvia.

Utilizing the existing and emerging satellite technology potential in the region of Nordic and Baltic States

The main aim of the NBS project is to create the necessary conditions for utilizing the existing and emerging potential of the consortium partners in Nordic-Baltic region (specifically in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland) for continuous and sustainable contribution in major on-going and planned European space programmes. NBS has mission-oriented approach to build a bridge for successful integration into space industry in Europe.

Cooperation between Ventspils and Tartu in Space Technology Research and Training

The objective of the project is to improve the quality of education for specialists engaged in the space technologies, as well as to improve scientific and business capacity through cooperation of scientific organizations, higher educational establishments, as well as business promotion organisations in the region of Kurzeme (Latvia) and the region of South Estonia (Estonia). Another aim of the project is to ensure stable long-term cooperation among space technology organisations in Ventspils and Tartu.

Space Technologies – Opportunity for Education and Economic Development

The objective of the project is to facilitate the construction of space technologies, to expand the use of space technology related services in Latvia and to provide the necessary human-resources for the development of the industry, thus investing in the development of knowledge-based, high added value economics. The target audiences of the project are the Latvia’s policymakers, non-governmental organizations, companies, the youth and the general society.

SmartRegions – expert support in creating satellite technology centre in Ventspils

The aim of the project is to develop the technical documentation of the satellite engineering production and research infrastructure of the Innovation Centre that will be located in the Ventspils High Technology Park. The project will be implemented in collaboration with external experts from OHB System AG and University of Bremen. The project’s activities will be carried out in Ventspils and Bremen.

Mobility for Space

Project’s aim: To promote the collaboration and experience exchange in space technology between Latvia and Nordic countries, as well as to increase the capacity and experience of the Latvian Space Technology Cluster.

Goal of the project:
facilitate the creation and development of new, viable and competitive businesses in Ventspils and municipalities of the regions of Ventspils and Talsi by providing an environment and consultancy services required for business activity.

Green Mission: Climate

 

Objective of the project: The objective of the Green mission: Climate project is to educate, inform and promote awareness and knowledge of climate change of at least 30 463 Latvian secondary school students, 1600 natural sciences teachers, 800 Latvian comprehensive schools, 80 Latvian education departments, by increasing knowledge and capacity of involved partners, learning from foreign experience, as well as integrating and using alternative educational approaches and methods to facilitate their involvement in climate change prevention and implementation of political measures connected to adaptation to climate change.

New building of Science and Technology Museum Kurzeme Demo Centre

Objective of the project: To expand Science and Technology Museum Kurzeme Demo Centre operation by construction a low-energy consumption building, as well as implementing and presenting usage of renewable energy resources and low carbon dioxide (CO2) and low-energy consumption solutions for sustainable buildings to the public.
