Latvijasradio.lv: Discussions about introduction of electromobiles in municipalities of Kurzeme

Municipalities of Kurzeme have started more active discussions about introduction of electromobiles. Kuldīga and Liepāja are talking about purchase of such automobiles, for example, for needs of municipal police. Analysing current available co-funding from Climate change financial instrument program, the municipalities of Kurzeme have concluded that conditions are not beneficial; therefore new solutions are going to be temporarily searched for.

Apollo.lv: New alternatives are searched for satellite’s «Venta-1» launch into orbit

Star of an Indian carrier rocket “Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle” (PSLV) by which launch of the first Latvian satellite “Venta-1” and Italian satellite “Maxvalier” into orbit was planned, again is being cancelled on indefinite time. Currently alternative solutions for the satellite’s launch are searched – an agency LETA was informed by development coordinator of the satellite “Venta-1” Dana Reizniece-Ozola.

Ventas Balss: The founders of VHTP visited Ventspils University College

The founders of Ventspils High Technology Park visited the production plant SIA Dendrolight Latvija and  Ventspils University College (VUC).

The head of the university Jānis Eglītis introduced visitors with the VUC, university’s growth since its establishment, and its future plans. The director of Engineering Department Jānis Harja showed guests the study laboratories that are considered to be one of the most advanced in the Baltic region.
