Pre-incubator Ideas’ workshop that works under the wing of the Ventspils Business Incubator in Street Inženieru 101, Ventspils, yesterday opened its new premises where from now every becoming or existing entrepreneur will be able to receive necessary support for development of a business idea. Portal Nekrize.lv asked to discussion representative of the pre-incubator Elza Ozola in order to find out how successfully the Ideas’ workshop has been acting by now.

„The pre-incubator in the Ventspils Business Incubator is fully working already a year offering both expert consultations and necessary infrastructure for successful development of business ideas. For every new developer of a business idea there is a mentor attracted, besides in case of need, new entrepreneurs can receive also consultations from experts of individual sectors. Since beginning of this year, we are trying to popularise pre-incubation services for students of the Ventspils University College.

We are proud of enterprises that being under our wing have grown and later been able to join the Business Incubator. Among them there are also a number of enterprises of students of the Ventspils University College, for instance, Intelligence Media Group Ltd. which deals with development of homepages and web designs. There is also the MG Group Ltd which manufactures parts for street cars and sport cars from composite materials. And I must also mention an author of a business idea from Italy who wants to produce textile prints in Latvia and with whom we currently have signed a contract.

Among the clients of the pre-incubator there are last-year students who have understood that after studies they want to develop something that is their own and not work a paid job. One more group is existing entrepreneurs who want to change a bit the profile of their activity. It is interesting that also the new mothers and of course unemployed are rather active.

When looking back to the last two or three years, it can be said that people more and more chooses to establish their own enterprises. I think it is greatly promoted by the system made in the state when establishing an enterprise has become simpler, and therefore people are no longer afraid to start their own business.”
