From January 19 to 25, the Kurzeme industrial design exhibition can be seen at Kuldīga’s trade centre Rimi where people of Kuldīga are welcome to see the exhibition, vote for the most successful design at the trade centre or in a home page www.kurzemesdizains.lv, and participate in a lottery.

People of Kuldīga can be proud of their leaders of Kurzeme industrial design – Wooden runbike DIP DAP (MGS Factory Ltd.) and a Board game HOUSE OF FORTUNE (Darbnīca A Projekti Ltd.).

„In Latvia very frequently merit and importance of the „big” enterprises’ in national economy are being emphasized. By introducing with companies and their products that participate in this exhibition, we can be convinced that also „little strokes fell great oaks” by creation of competitive products for both domestic and foreign market and promotion of national economy growth.

„It is real pleasure to see how many different sectors of enterprises are represented in this exhibition and how many different products are created in Kurzeme region. I am convinced that organisation of such exhibition will promote both recognition and development of enterprises and development of region and city as well as inspire other people to involve actively and to start implementation of his or her business idea”, concludes Ingus Palapis, Financial director of Kurzeme Business Incubator Ltd.

Interest of public is huge which is ascertained by the number of received votes – 14,000 votes in Internet alone. Currently shoulder to shoulder goes Chair Pally made by MWF Ltd. and design product Solid wood cellular material DendroLight made by Dendrolight Latvija Ltd., followed by Wooly World woolen bear made by Wooly World Ltd. and design product Heineken application made by Latvisoft Ltd. However every people of Kuldīga and other people voting on the Internet site www.kurzemesdizains.lv have an opportunity to change these results for the sake of his or her favorite.

We are calling everyone to express their opinion in order to set the most successful design in Kurzeme where a lot of interesting products are being made!

Aim of the exhibition is to inform Latvian inhabitants about the enterprises of Kurzeme and their production, promote recognition of Kurzeme’s producers in Latvian market, emphasize importance of design and artists’ role in technology development, and show the latest products of the region.
The travelling exhibition will be seen on:

• January 19-25 t/c Rimi, Sūru iela 2, Kuldīga
• February 6-20 t/c Damme Kurzemes prospekts 1a, Riga

On February 2, the most successful design in Kurzeme is going to be announced!
