Ir.lv: Rūdolfs Blaumanis will fly in space
Rūdolfs is a relative of famous Latvian writer Rūdolfs Blaumanis, boy’s great-great-grandfather was writer’s brother. That is why the boy’s parents decided to name their son after his famous relative.
The significance of his last name (Blaumanis) Rūdolfs first realized when he was six and wrote his name on the writer’s family tree, when visiting The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia. Rūdolfs got more acquainted with the writer when reading his works at school. “I enjoyed the short story Nāves ēnā (In the Shadow of Death). The plot was exciting. Maybe it sounds awkward, but I like to study at school.”
