Manufacturing companies of Kurzeme are welcome to apply for industrial exhibition ELEMENTI. Starting from January 4, 2012 the exhibition will be available in Ventspils and later in Liepāja, Kuldīga and Rīga. The aim of the exhibition is to demonstrate products manufactured in Kurzeme, and also to inform the wider territory about the things Latvia can be proud of.

SIA “Mākslas perons” in cooperation with Latvian Designers Society organize the exhibition of Kurzeme industrial design ELEMENTI, to show the best samples of Kurzeme manufactured products design. Within the framework of the exhibition the 40 manufactured products will be shown on the posters that will be designed especially for each company.

This event will be both exhibition and the competition. The companies will compete for the audience award. Form 4 till 25 January the voting for poster will be available on Internet in the home page of competition. Promotional awards will be delivered by Latvian Designers Society, representatives of City Councils of Kurzeme region and guests of honour.

“We would like to promote the recognition of Kurzeme manufacturers in market of Latvia, to stress the importance of design and the role of designers within the development of technologies, and demonstrate the latest things created in the region. Kurzeme has always been associated with Baltic Sea, the beach in the length of 300 km, beautiful towns and self-confident people, with the widest waterfall in Europe – Ventas Rumba and many other treasures. Now is the right time to notice the creative potential and strength of Kurzeme people!” says the organizer of exhibition Lienīte Ormane the Chairperson of the board of SIA “Mākslas perons”.

“Today one must be delightful for everybody, who wants and can create new things and services, but it is not enough. In order to keep to the surface of this overproduction product must have surplus value. And the design is the sphere that distinguish good thing from bad. Latvia needs to use its best designs, for them to be honoured. Kurzeme is rich of talented, active people that create new and astonishing things just near us. We simply need to help the other to notice them,” says Arvīds Endziņš the member of Latvian Designers Society.
