The first days of May in the VHTP Business Incubator were very productive – a number of enterprises was increased with a new and perspective enterprise Windau Studio that will offer to Ventspils inhabitants and guests a wide range of photo services; as well as Support granting committee decided on granting funding for development of already existing enterprises of the Business Incubator. 

The founder of the Windau Studio is a professional photographer Lauris Nagliņš for whom photography is not only a job but also a hobby. The photographer carrier of Lauris began at the National news agency LETA where he used to work as photo reporter, but in order to obtain the highest education in commercial photography he went to England – to the Arts University College at Bournemouth. Time spent in England was very useful for his professional growth – practical study to such photographers as Lee Jenkins, Simon Roberts, as well as work experience gained in one of the biggest London’s photo studios Hoxton Street Studios once again acknowledged the choice of Lauris to tie his life with photo industry.

In nearest time the entrepreneur plans to establish a photo studio at the premises of the VHTP Business Incubator and offer to all interested photo services – beginning with photo session in studio and outside it and ending with advertisements’ photos and reporting photos.

In agenda of the Support granting commission there was also another important and responsible task – to grant financial support to enterprises existing in the VHTP Business Incubator. This time the budget was LVL 90,000 but the total sum of application – LVL 135,000. When assessing applications the commission took into consideration a number of criteria – both the growth of enterprise’s export and clients when receiving the funding and prevention of the main development issues and history of an enterprise – how active is the operation in Ventspils or Talsi, what the turnover and a number of employed is, does all taxes to the national budget have been paid. 

This time the funding was granted to such services as prototype development, international marketing, technology consultations, specialized legal services, introduction of IT systems, and sale consultations.

The next meeting of the Support granting commission of the VHTP Business Incubator is to be held at the end of July when once again questions about admittance of new enterprises in the Business Incubator, as well as funding granting for implementation of business ideas will be reviewed.
