At the end of March, a producer of electronic equipments Baltic Embedded Ltd. joined the Business Incubator of the Ventspils High Technology Park (the VHTP). The enterprise will develop embedded software solutions using operating system Android, as well as in cooperation with producers of electric appliances provide development of final production.

The main former of the enterprise is Karsten Dahl Vandrup, Chief executive officer of a Danish enterprise Lizard Technologies, as well as founder of a Latvian enterprise Latvisoft that already successfully operates in the VHTP Business Incubator. But duty of the enterprise manager will be fulfilled by Viesturs Zeps who a number of years has worked for government agency The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, participating not only in development of different level policy planning documents and development and introduction of support initiatives for innovation, but also in managing and consulting foreign investment projects.

Currently the enterprise employs 4 employees, and by the end of 2012 it is planned to increase the number of employees to 12.

In total 50 enterprises are in the Business Incubator operating in different fields – beginning from design of metal constructions and IT services and ending with production of toys and  underwear.

We can inform that by April 20, 2012, all enterprises of the VHTP Business Incubator have an opportunity to apply for funding in order to introduce and develop a business project. When joining the Business Incubator a support rate of 85 % for Business Incubator services is being applied for enterprises; application of the rate depends on age of an enterprise thus allowing reducing day-to-day expenditures and saving money for implementation of development projects.
