In field of lingerie tailoring, small, flexible, and innovative regional enterprises own the future.

National strategy and education system must be applied to support such enterprises – estimates field experts as the labor issue intensifies. As there is no lack of demand of production made in Latvia, textile industry enterprises constantly have tailor vacancies. According to data of the State Employment Agency about February, this year, tailors and tailoring equipment operators are respectively the eight and ninth demanded profession in Latvia. At the same there are a lot of tailors among unemployed who do not want to take vacancies. While some enterprises hope to positively solve the situation, others search for innovation opportunities or locate producing abroad emphasizing that there is no national strategy for serious development of the field.
