Cluster’s strategy

Participants of Space Technology Cluster represent different sectors, namely, entrepreneurial activity, research, education and science, as well as public sector. In 2009, when drawing up the Space Technology Cluster’s strategy, action plan and managerial model, as well as defining cluster’s vision, general aims and achievable results, different demands and needs of each sector were taken into consideration. |
Vision
To encourage Latvia’s participation in European Space Agency, to take part in different fund-raising programs, to raise the competitiveness of cluster and its participants on international level, as well as promote its profile in space research community.
General aims
- To involve in the cluster representatives from Latvian companies and research institutions who would be interested in developing space industry
- To increase the number of employed specialists in Latvia that are performing in the field of space technology
- To promote the increment of local competency by developing knowledge transfer
Cluster’s lines of activity in middle-term, till 2014
The two main lines of activity are organization of collaboration, and information exchange, as well as business operations, for instance, mutual participation in exhibitions. Significant lines of activity are also mutual application of external competency, elaboration of large-scale projects and researches, acquiring education, preparation of specialists and education, participation in the sphere related decision-making, as well as elaboration and updating of sphere’s strategy. Also relevant lines of activity are - providing and availability of infrastructure, business support events, as well as networking on international scale.
Cluster’s lines of activity in long-term, till 2019
The following lines of activity are considered to be equally significant: elaboration of large-scale projects and researches, acquiring education, preparation of specialists and education, participation in the sphere related decision-making, organization of collaboration, mutual application of external competency and business operations. Providing and availability of infrastructure, business support events, networking on international scale, and elaboration and updating of sphere’s strategy are also essentially important.
